Savonius turbine Mark II 90 % PRINTABLE- SELF ASSEMBLED #CatchTheWind
thingiverse
This is the Mark II of Simple Savonius Wind Turbine. It harnesses wind power to rotate the turbine, which in turn drives gears that power a brushless engine. The engine generates a current that charges a battery. Virtually all components are self-printable in 3D using your preferred material and can be printed in a volume of 170*170*170 mm. The turbine's components fit snugly together. Parts of the chassis must be secured with screws. The benefits include: - It starts operating at low wind speeds (for instance, w = 3m / s). - Its small size makes it unobtrusive. - It does not visually pollute the environment. However, there are also some drawbacks: - Torque is not constant. The design takes into account the ratio e / D = 1/6, where D is the total diameter of the turbine and e is the variance between the two semi-cylinder constituents.
