I received the Food Grinder Kit for our KitchenAid as a gift for Christmas and decided to put it to the test in the kitchen. I printed the Sausage Stuffer in PLA and used it with success to stuff sausages today - results were impressive, if a bit imperfect. First and foremost, let's address safety precautions: this gadget should never be thoroughly cleaned after its first use for reuse later. Simply toss it in the compost bin once done and wait six months to print another one when you need it again. This will ensure your PLA waste is properly recycled, even in areas like Seattle where curb-side commercial composting is available. DO NOT attempt to use this device more than once; doing so can result in mediocre performance or total failure. To optimize usage, design the Sausage Stuffer with an 8mm size to pair seamlessly with standard casing sizes available in most markets. I only had access to 16mm casing so didn't see a need for an alternative size. Using the Food Grinder Kit as instructed is highly inefficient and causes more hassle than benefit. Grinding meat into small particles and then feeding it through the stuffer proves frustrating because it doesn't allow smooth progression - meat just clings there! For seamless performance, first cube meat into smaller portions and blend with seasonings to form a coarse mix, then add additional ingredients for enhanced flavor before inserting the mixture directly into the grinder.
