cults3d
The Saturn V Second Stage powered five J-2 engines. After the first stage was jettisoned, it burned for roughly six minutes, propelling the vehicle and payload to a staggering altitude of 115 statute miles. The second stage itself was also discarded after its mission was complete. In its Apollo configuration, this stage performed impressively, covering a distance of 935 miles downrange while reaching an astonishing speed of 15,500 miles-per-hour within a mere six to eleven minutes, and achieving a maximum height of 115 statute miles.
