Saturn V Rocket - Stage 1
cults3d
The initial phase of the Saturn V Rocket consists of five F-1 engines generating nearly 7.7 million pounds of thrust. These powerful engines are indispensable for propelling the massive rocket to a speed capable of escaping Earth's gravity. The first stage engines burn at liftoff and sustain themselves for approximately 2.5 minutes, propelling the vehicle and payload to an altitude of 38 miles. Upon completing its mission, the first stage separates from the rest of the rocket and burns up in the Earth's atmosphere. The very first Saturn V was launched on November 9, 1967, in an unmanned Earth orbital flight with all three stages functioning flawlessly. A solitary additional research and development flight test was conducted before the third launch of the enormous Saturn V, which carried humans aboard.
