Saturn V Base for Lego Model
thingiverse
My buddy constructed an impressive Lego Saturn V rocket. I created this base to hold it in place with some cool lighting effects. The top bezel is made of a clear plastic material. I used a 200F print temperature for the best results. To add an extra touch, I incorporated a cheap $11 battery-operated remote control LED strip inside the base. There's also an optional plate for the Apollo 11 mission that can be attached to the rocket. It was printed in a metallic-colored plastic and is visible in the video with the rocket. Here are some videos showing the LED effects: LEDs in action: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-pHqF4uPIM&feature=youtu.be Rocket on base (low light): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWYHw2jdDuw Rocket on base (normal light): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EbIghmlF4o4
