This small kit will allow you to repurpose a satellite dish bracket as an antenna mast. It creates a snug fit between a standard galvanized pole (see below) and a satellite dish mounting bracket. It keeps the pole from wobbling inside the mounting bracket.The satellite dish brackets are widely available for free or cheap. Most are unused on your roof or a neighbors roof. Repurpose one of these brackets as a way to create a tall antenna mast for your project.See how it goes together:Galvanized PoleI used a 10' pole that is intended to be used on the top of a chain link fence. I found it at Lowe's for $22. It's called “10-1/2-ft W 17-Gauge Galvanized Steel Chain Link Fence Rail”.The exterior of this pole is about 33.6mm (OD).Satellite Dish BracketI had two of these dishes on my house. I removed one, sealed up the holes with the correct sealing compound, then painted the bracket.The interior of the satellite bracket tube is about 40mm diameter (ID). The galvanized pipe can fit about 4.5in or 115mm into the bracket tube.InstructionsPrint the "Test Fit Ring" using the same material you plan to use for the brackets (PETG or ASA is recommended). Ensure this fits inside the satellite bracket tube and the galvanized pipe can slide inside. Adjust the size percentage up or down until you get a good fit. Use that same percentage to print both the other parts.Measure the correct distance to drill your holes. Do not drill into the sleeve, it will crack apart. Align your holes in the bracket tube and pipe with the holes in the sleeve. See the photo for dimensions. PartsSatellite Bracket Sleeve: this takes up all the slack so the pipe fits snug and won't wobble.Guy-Wire Plate Anchor: this allows you to anchor the guy-wire plate anywhere on the pipe. Guy-wires are recommended if using the full 10' pole. I found the plate around my shop so I don't know where you would get one. It should be fairly easy to make out of sheet steel. The plate should not be printed. There will be too much force on the plate for plastic to withstand.(3) sets of 2" stainless steel bolts and lock nuts.
