These are the 3D printed parts used for Earth Odyssey's emergency at the Space Mission Simulator at the Challenger Learning Center of Tallahassee, FL. They include: Solar Panel Adapter piece Probe Battery Adapter piece PWR link piece This design uses Elenco Snap Circuits as a base and does not include them. Standards: NGSS CCSS Overview and Background: SAT needs power! The solar panel on the SAT has been damaged; students must 3D print a replacement piece before the SAT is launched. Lesson Plan and Activity: Use observation and measuring skills to fix the problem. Students work together to inspect the pieces for damage and measure exact dimensions to 3D print the correct piece for the probe. Materials Needed: SIM3 capable probe Elenco Snap Circuit solar panel and battery (can be replaced by 3D printed objects of the same dimensions) 3D printer onboard Sim Computer connected to 3D printer with these files inside Program to use printer that accepts STL files Filament Ruler Task cards and Inventory Log
