Sarcophagus Discovered in Spanish Church Believed to be from the 4th Century A stunning white marble sarcophagus was unearthed at the end of the 19th century within the parish church of Castilliscar. The artifact remains intact to this day, offering a glimpse into the region's rich history. Through its intricate iconography and distinctive style, experts have pinpointed its creation to around 320-340 AD, marking it as an exceptional piece from the early Christian era. Its origins are shrouded in mystery, but it is thought to have originated from one of three possible sites: San Román de Castilliscar, Somavilla, or Cabezo Ladrero in Sofuentes.
