The Sarcophagus of San Ramón This is one of the few Romanesque sculpture pieces whose chronology is known with precision: transfer of San Ramón's remains in 1170. The remnants of polychromy are more evident here. Normally, Romanesque sculpture, in capitals, portals, and sarcophagi presented a striking polychromy, which, in most cases, has been lost. For a time, it stood on the four Caryatids of the Tetramorph that now support the main altar. Its style and chisel work make it one of the most beautiful works of funerary sculpture in Spain, along with the Sarcophagus of Doña Sancha, in Jaca. Nothing is known about the authorship of this magnificent sculptural work, although some authors relate it to Leodegarius' school.
