Hello everyone! I recently picked up a professional knife set during last year's Black Friday sale at Amazon, which you can find here: http://amzn.com/B002ZCKIBM. Since the set didn't come with a block, I decided to create one. For inspiration, I looked at this fantastic project on Instructables: https://www.instructables.com/id/Knife-Block/. I then adapted it for use with FDM printers. Before we get started, let's talk about safety. This project will be used at home, and the knives involved can be hazardous, so please follow these three essential steps: 1) Use magnets as described in the original project, which you can find here: https://www.amazon.it/Magnetastico%C2%AE-neodimio-frigorifero-permanente-interattiva/dp/B00Z7YVU8A. 2) Print rubber pads using TPU95 or a similar rubber filament. 3) Create the ballast, ideally with a milling machine. The one in my project weighs 2.3Kg. To get started, you'll need: Phillips flat head self-tapping screws (4.8mm x 22mm): 2 pieces Phillips flat head self-tapping screws (5.5mm x 25mm): 2 pieces Neodymium magnets (8mm x 3mm): 4 pieces Please refer to the PDF and images for further details.
