Sappho Buddha
thingiverse
I adore the Pop Buddha and it's one of my favorite prints since getting my printer. I also loved that it came with a headless Buddha, which sparked my interest in mesh editors as I began to explore their capabilities. As I delved deeper into the world of mesh editing, I wanted to create something truly unique with the headless Buddha. While I had a few ideas in mind, this was the first one that finally came together successfully. I'm captivated by the intricate beauty of Sappho's sculpture and I love how her delicate head contrasts with the large Buddha body. I created this using MeshMixer, ensuring it would be a clean, non-manifold model that prints exceptionally well. To test its printability without supports, I made a small prototype and discovered that only the tip of her nose showed some roughness. However, when I printed the entire piece at full scale, the results were flawless with no supports required whatsoever.
