Santorini caldera stands out as an enormous, largely submerged caldera situated in the southern Aegean Sea, a mere 120 kilometers north of Crete in Greece. Above water's surface lies the circular Santorini island group, comprising Santorini - or Thera, its classic Greek name - as the primary island, Therasia and Aspronisi at the edges, and the Kameni islands right at its center.
