Santa's Sleigh (flat-pack)
thingiverse
This tiny sleigh and reindeer is a fantastic little ornament for the tree or mantelpiece. Why not include one in a Christmas card as a unique gift! We're still figuring out 3D printing here at the McKie foundation, and although our goal is to start producing 3D protein models, there's no reason we can't have some fun along the way. One of our designers used Inkscape and Open SCAD to create this little Christmas decoration! Just cut out the parts from the Airfix-like frame (scissors are recommended), and slot them together, using glue if the joints are loose. The tolerances are pretty tight, but we've adjusted the joints so they should fit together nicely... Recommended size: 126.6 x 180 x 2.3 mm (to fit an A5 card). Print time: two and a half hours on our CR-10.
