Santa's New Sleigh

Santa's New Sleigh

Santa's New Sleigh Santa's reindeer retired, unable to keep up with the demands of delivering gifts on Christmas Eve. They were old and no longer able to fly fast enough. Sometimes they would get lost or misplace their antlers. "We don't use reindeer anymore," Santa declared. "Drones can get there faster." Tardiness is not an option when it comes to getting presents under the tree on time. Santa must arrive promptly at every household around the world in just one night. An executive order was issued by the head elf, commanding the elves to build a new sled pulled by eight powerful pistons instead of reindeer. "Fuel it with nitrous, gas, nog, and Wi-Fi," the order read. "Make sure it can drive, ski, and fly." The sleigh must be able to go supersonic speeds, turn on a dime, and land on a pine tree without any trouble. It also needs to have a nuclear heater to keep it warm in cold weather. The nose of the sled should glow with just enough light to navigate through bad weather. The sleigh's size can change depending on Santa's needs. It can shrink down to fit through small openings or grow large enough to reach the moon. With this new technology, delivering presents will be a breeze. By Christmas Eve night, the elves had built a 3D printed contraption that would revolutionize gift-giving forever. The new sled was ready to take on the challenge of delivering presents around the world in just one night. Message from Richard As I grew up, building plastic models was always my favorite holiday activity. I received them as gifts and loved putting them together. I hope this model brings joy to you and your family during the holidays. I had a blast working on this project and hope you do too! The model comes with pre-colored build plates so you can assemble it without painting. It requires minimal support and cleanup, making it easy to put together. Assembly Instructions Interactive Assembly Animation on Sketchfab Assembly Sequence on Youtube You'll build the sleigh just like the elves did in Santa's shop, starting with the frame rails and working your way up. You'll add a detailed V8 engine, powertrain components, front end, ski, sleigh, stand, and even Jolly Old Saint Nick himself. The kit contains over 80 detailed parts, all designed from scratch for successful 3D printing. Includes tested S3D factory files for each build plate, optimized and proven to produce beautiful results on typical home 3D printers. You'll need to adjust the settings for PLA, PET, and other materials. Printing I developed and tested this project using S3D and have provided the factory files containing all the settings and support you need for a successful print in ABS. For other slicers, I've included STL files for each build plate. Please see the parts list for guidance on adding support as needed.
