Santa Maria Flag Ship: Scale Model Kit
cults3d
update 1/25/22 added 6 new objects: printable sails. This is a low poly custom built scale model of Christopher Columbus’s flag ship: the Santa Maria. I originally built this model out of a personal interest of early sailing ships, and recently converted it to a 3D printable assembly out of interest from 3D Printing forum users. Model Scale: 1/50 Model length: 15 inches If you'd like to view the instructions before you purchase, feel free to download here This model kit consists of 72 separate pieces. I have included a step-by-step instruction document with photo references. There will be a considerable amount of postproduction and cleanup of parts, especially if you use wood PLA. Although, I believe what you put into this is what you get out and find it very satisfying to assemble. The challenging part (if you choose to do it) will be creating and attaching sails (cloth) and rigging (model thread). It’s up to you how far you want to take this… the more detail the better! I used Syren Ship Model company to purchase “miniature rope”. pictures are for reference only. Some parts may be slightly different in latest versions as I've made many improvements. Please feel free to contact me with questions and I will answer directly or post additional comments if necessary. richi@InteractSim.com Intended for personal use only.
