Sanlaki Grip Caps
thingiverse
These caps are designed to protect your hands when playing other games that require close Quest Controller movements. Sanlaki Gunstock is not designed to work well for games like Population one where there is constant disengaging of the offhand for reloading of the weapons where your movements bring the left hand (for a right hand dominant player) above the gunstock and close together to reload. So while playing Population:One, I do not use the gunstock. When reloading I found that the movements were causing my left hand to hit the right hand clipping point and cutting my hands. I needed something that was fairly smooth and easily removable. So by creating a cap that houses a magnet on the inside I could effectively create a magnetic clip that would use the opposite poles of the magnet to hold it place. You can see in the pictures, one magnet is right side up but the magnet on the clip is flipped over to create this opposite pole effect. If you printed your own gunstock you may have extra magnets laying around and can use those magnets for this. In the end when you want to play other games, you can simply put the cap over the controller to stock magnetic mounts and feel safe that you are not going to destroy your hands. Its the little things that matter. Hope others get use out of these simple but effective caps. Happy playing.
