My brand-new Sangean RCR-3 clock radio is almost flawless, yet one thing bugs me: when I set an alarm, the bright glow from the alarm button illuminates the room, casting unwanted shadows even after my eyes adjust to the darkness. To fix this issue, I came up with a clever solution involving a small custom-made piece that fits snugly over the left column and shields the buttons. A thin layer of aluminum tape on the interior prevents any stray light from leaking through, instantly resolving the problem.
