What is Geocaching?Geocaching is an outdoor recreational activity, in which participants use a Global Positioning System receiver or mobile device and other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers, called "geocaches" or "caches", at specific locations marked by coordinates all over the worldIn essence, it's a worldwide treasure hunt. Containers range from the size of your fingernail to the size of a caravan. Inside you'll find a piece of paper to sign and sometimes you'll find goodies to trade. Why remix into a Geocache?Since getting a 3D printer, I've discovered how well it complaments other hobbies such as Geocaching. I've been learning little by little how to use Tinkercad, and have been making geocaches out of other's creations! Hopefully by putting these geocaches out into the wild for others to find, it'll attract more people to the 3D printing community too! Most of the time people find caches made from tupperware or nano caches (tiny magnetic annoying things), and love finding something a bit different. On all of my geocache listings, I have included some brief information about 3D printing. Info about this modelI cut a cylander from the “Sand Worm” by methlon, then used the screw top from the “Square Base Container with PET Bottle Cap” made by Hagyma. I'll be using the screw top for most of my remixes as I've found caps fit perfectly on it.Support is required. I also recommend at least a 20 - 30% hex infil due to the hollow chamber ending and the mouth of the sand worm beginning close to each other.Geocache ID GCA3Y5Y Lessons LearnedI used blender to make this and have since discovered that blender is overly complicated for the simple task of turning something into a geocache. Tinkercad appears to be the way forward in making geocache remixes!
