Sandwich case for BM43A
thingiverse
Up for your review is a sandwich case I've been working on specifically for the BM43A keyboard. I'm quite fond of the aluminum case that's easily available for it, but finding anything else besides that one can be a real challenge. To design the SVG files, I used http://builder.swillkb.com/, and then ran them through Blender to convert them into models. Unfortunately, during the modeling process, I got a bit disorganized with my file names, so there's a chance I uploaded the wrong files for the plate - which should have been two 3u spacebars. Please leave a comment if this is indeed the case, and I'll do my best to get it sorted out. This project requires some hands-on experimentation, as you'll need to tweak the thicknesses to get it right for your needs. The other dimensions should be set properly. Post holes are 3mm in size, designed for use with m3 screws that bite all the way through - so make sure you're stretching those forearm muscles before tackling this project! For my setup, I printed the bottom layer, the top layer, the plate, and also an open layer at 500% thickness (don't alter the other dimensions). I used 16mm screws in my build, but you'll need to adjust your screw length accordingly. I've split and sized these files so they can fit on an Ender 3. Feel free to use any build plate adhesion method you prefer, or none at all if that's what suits you best. This is still a work-in-progress project, so any feedback would be greatly appreciated - especially since this is my first real modeling project. Thanks for considering a download, and I hope your day is filled with joy!
