This tool, discovered in my U.S. toolbox, features a U.S. Patent No. 4,730,430 and has undergone modifications for enhanced fastening and guiding of its "spanner". The device is designed to work with an unending sandpaper ring, providing surfaces with improved finishes. The spanner guides and secures the sandpaper ring through a compression spring mechanism, allowing continuous use by moving it forward slightly and sliding the band on the handle piece. For personal applications only, please verify patent validity for commercial usage. Originally manufactured via injection molding, this model may be 3D-printable or CNC-milled. Technical specifics include a neutral compression spring length of 31mm, sandpaper length of approximately 329mm, and recommended ABS or POM plastic materials. Available data formats consist of STEP file (.stp), native files (.prt), and (.asm) for users of PTC Creo Parametric 2.0.
