Sanding Plane
thingiverse
Small sanding plane I designed for use with 1" (25mm) sandpaper. The overall size is 150mm long by 25mm wide by 50mm tall. You will need the following hardware to assemble this sanding block: (2) 3mm x 10mm screws (2) 3mm washers (2) 3mm heat set nut inserts, commonly used in building some 3D printers. A strip of sandpaper that is 25mm wide by 23.5mm long will also be required. I recommend printing with a high level of detail: 6 top layers, bottom layers and perimeters, as well as 40% infill, at a layer height of .20mm. Print two of the Sanding Block Pins and one sanding block, then assemble them according to the photos provided. To do this, insert a strip of sandpaper into one end (into the circular cutout), then tighten down the screw while keeping the paper stretched as tight as possible. Next, wrap the sandpaper around the bottom and insert it into the other side. Make sure to hold the paper stretched tightly while screwing down the second screw. Once assembled, your new sanding plane is ready for use! Print Settings: Printer Brand: LulzBot Printer: TAZ 5 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: .20mm Infill: 40% Notes: Print with 6 each bottom layer, top layer & perimeter. Post-Printing Instructions: After printing, take a few minutes to sand any sharp edges before assembling the sanding block.
