Sanding Block for Wood Edges
prusaprinters
After gluing together a slatted oak bench, I needed a way to ease the sharp edges of the wood. I created a linear sanding block that wraps sandpaper around the sharp edges of the wood. The model width was based on the ¾” wood and to fit between each slat. The length was based on a typical sandpaper module for one of my electric sanders. The “handle” on the top allows you push and pull the block while holding the sandpaper in place. This allows you to quickly make small adjustments to the sandpaper to have a fresh sandpaper on the wood edge. The print has a small fillet to control the rounded edge of the wood and a splayed opening to prevent scratching or sanding the sides of the oak members.I printed on my Mini with PETG standing vertically on the print sheet using .20mm Speed with Gyroid infill at 20%. I have included the Fusion .f3d file to modify the profile for your unique project.
