Sanding Block
thingiverse
After struggling with many sanding block designs I decided to make my own which fixes the problems I had getting the sand paper in when the clamping insert has to be applied to both ends at the same time. This design allows you to clamp one end in tight and then can stretch the sandpaper and clamp the other end in separately. In addition the clamping inserts have 2 locating pins on the bottom to ensure the clamping inserts are easily put in the right place. It should support sandpaper up to 1mm thick. The model is designed to be printed with no supports. In Cura I turned op Adaptive Layers (which allows the bottom edge curve to be correctly printed) and Bridging (which allows the inside of the hex nuts to be printed without supports). Print the body with the largest face downards, the clamping inserts with the pins upwards and the bolts (you will want to print 4 of these) with the bolt head downwards. UPDATE: Added a few different sizes UPDATE 2: Bolt V2 has slightly bigger hex cavity as 6mm Alan key was a bit tight.
