Sand V1 - Stand-Alone Direct Nema extruder
thingiverse
An independent direct extruder that functions without a carriage is being developed. The estruder has been designed to be as simple and easy to assemble as possible. At present, it works exclusively with jhead hotends; however, compatibility with other models can be added upon request. A redesigned belt tension system (as seen in picture 5) simplifies the process further, but if you encounter difficulties or have suggestions, please let me know. The design was created using Fusion360 and includes F3D and step files, which can also be exported in other formats. The following components are required for assembly: 2x M4 screws (with a minimum length of 30mm for the right side and 18mm for the small bearing), 7x M3 screws, 1x small filament bearing (stl file provided), 2x M4 nuts, 3x zipties, 3x LM8UU or other linear bearings, and washers if necessary. For improved precision and durability, it is recommended to print with a layer height of 0.2mm. This is the initial version, and the octopus print in the picture serves as proof of concept. Future improvements may include adding a 40mm fan mount. Feel free to share your feedback and suggestions for improvement. As an update, the screwless heart (pictured fourth) was successfully printed using 50mm/s perimeters, 75% infill, and a layer height of 0.35mm, producing satisfactory results.
