Adopting a visible, measurable event as a time standard is appealing to me. I propose that we use an hourglass, which can be customized and 3D printed for accuracy and style. This unique hourglass could become a symbol of time, and I dream that someone with a dual extruder will print it in PC or clear ABS and laywood. For printing, remember not to use support and opt for low infill. After cleaning up around the plug cutout, fill the top glass three-quarters full of dry sand, and insert the plug carefully.
