San's Dagger Low Detail Version
thingiverse
31/03 Just a heads up a v2 of this dagger is coming very soon, aimed at the higher resolution version shown in like 1 scene in the film, curved blade plus a pummel.Whilst printing Ashitaka's sword I was thinking it would be cool to make San's Dagger, annoyingly in the film it does change shape and size throughout the animation process and I even reduced it's size based on a few more pictures I found online. So v2 (when i learn how) is to make it more of a curved blade and maybe a bit shorter again to like 30cm.Overall length is 35cm (handle 10cm, blade 25cm)Blade: 1x San_Dagger_Blade & 1x San_Dagger_TipHandle: 1x San_Dagger_HandleJoining: 2x Peg (glue into Blade Tip first as that is a shallower hole, also not required if using a wooden dowel)Only after printing I noticed the profile of the blade isn't perfect, you should be able to see from the 3d view and i didn't notice whilst modelling as there were verticies and bevels everywhere, v2 will be better.Like my other sword this design has a tube running down it's centre for a 12mm wooden dowel which can be picked up from most hardware stores, I changed down to a 13mm hole so that it has less movement but it does mean there is less space for glue.Edit edit edit edit. I've just found another scene in the movie where the handle is completely different. urhgghgh15/11/24 So i'm terrible at self promotion, so only realised that only my latest posts have any info about this, but many people asked me if they could request models or if i had a patreon, so I went out and made one. I'm still amazed that I get tips from this website as I've done all of these because I want to make them, and as I get better at modelling I scrap what I've made and make it better. So, this is my advertisement for my patreon page affini3 whilst I've been a bit quiet for October because of a house reorganisation, I'll be back to posting new designs on there first before posting them here and other sites. Also you can help steer where designs go. Thank you
