She dedicated herself to Minamoto no Yoshinaka, a skilled general of the Heian period's late era, during Japan's tumultuous Genpei War shogunate era. As a member of the esteemed Minamoto samurai clan, Minamoto no Yoshinaka embodied the code of conduct expected from his noble lineage. During this pivotal time in Japanese history, a group of fearless female warriors emerged, known as Onna-bugeisha. These courageous women fought alongside their male counterparts, honing their combat skills to safeguard their households, families, and honor during times of conflict.
