Samurai Sword Holder
thingiverse
I managed to get my hands on a Samurai Sword and wanted a way to showcase it. However, I couldn't find a design that met my needs. I designed two versions of my samurai sword holder using Inventor: - Open top: This design allows you to simply insert the sword from the top. - Closed top: This design lets you "lock" the sword in place. I didn't want anyone to pick up the sword and do whatever they wanted with it, so with this design, you insert your sword from the side. I printed my designs twice using a 0.3mm layer height with a 20% infill. In the future, I plan on sanding them down, but I expect 0.2mm layer height would look even better. - I had planned to use the closed top for the sword handle and the open top for the sword sleeve, but I didn't take into account the thicker parts at the end of the sword. So, I'm using them in reverse. The inner section has an 11-degree angle because my sword is curved. Therefore, I don't know if it will work with straight swords. - If you want this design for a straight sword, just send me a private message and I'll edit the design and upload it. - I don't plan to make any additional edits to my design, but I think I would need to raise the overall height to more than 4 inches. Dimensions: - 2 inches wide * 2 inches deep * 3.5 inches high - The inner cut-out is 1 inch wide Hopefully, this helps you adjust the ratio to fit your needs. Double-sided tape - I could design a base for this, but for now, I think I'll simply use tape to secure it to the surface. - My intention is to show off my sword on a flat surface, so I plan to put the tape at the very bottom. I'm using cheap tape, and I expect that not a lot of force will be placed onto the base. If you use command strips or something similar, you could place your sword on the wall. I haven't tried it, so I can't say if it would work or not. I am the owner of https://www.neocrisis.com/.
