Low poly mask modeled using Zbrush and 3dsmax 2020, carefully UVed and textured with detailed normal and displacement TIF maps that bring it to life. Samurai masks were not only designed for protection but also to inspire fear in their enemies, a testament to the fierce warriors who wore them into battle. In modern times, Japanese people wear surgical masks as a precaution against germs, as a fashion statement, or even to reclaim some personal space. However, masks have a rich history that spans thousands of years, dating back to the prehistoric Jomon period (10,000 B.C. to 300 B.C.), where they were used in sacred rituals to connect with the divine.
