Samurai Hood Vent Cover

Samurai Hood Vent Cover

This four-piece snap-together (no tools required) vent cover design by Ack is a real showstopper. It demands a large bed 3D printer, similar in size to a Lulzbot TAZ 6. Once printed, the parts come together with ease using Super Glue or a matching adhesive. I got great results printing this using ColorFabb 2.93mm filament, but some tweaks might be necessary when working with other types of filament. I highly recommend ColorFabb for its consistent build quality, although it doesn't finish up quite like ABS and other types of filament products. Also included is a .gcode version of the top plate that contains embedded code at the beginning of layer 15, which causes the print job to pause so you can swap out filament colors for the Suzuki "S" logo. This embedded code works perfectly on the TAZ-6 printer, but it's not guaranteed to work with any other type of CAD-style 3D printer that can handle .gcode files.
