Samsung TV accidental button push prevention
thingiverse
This nifty device makes it significantly more challenging to accidentally hit the extremely sensitive power button on a specific model of Samsung TV (the UE46C6700). We use one of these in the office as an oversized computer monitor during scrum sessions, and people kept bumping into the power button while using the mouse. This design makes it much less likely that the button will be accidentally touched, requiring a precise finger poke to turn off the TV. I initially printed a prototype of this in flexible PLA, but it triggered the button whenever I touched any part of the print. I modified the model to be more open and printed it in ABS instead, and this print does not have that problem. I'm not entirely sure whether the shape of the model or the flexible PLA's conductivity at high-frequency electromagnetic fields is causing the issue, but this second model gets the job done perfectly. Print Settings Printer Brand: FlashForge Printer: Creator Pro Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.1 mm Infill: 20% Notes: I only printed this at a small layer height for aesthetic purposes. 0.2 mm would be perfectly adequate. If your print triggers the button, the filament is probably too conductive for high-frequency EM fields. It's difficult to predict beforehand which filaments will suffer from this issue, but ABS seems to work just fine.
