This is a custom spacer designed specifically for the Samsung SmartThings Multipurpose sensor (2nd-gen). As I started installing these sensors throughout my home, I realized that I required multiple spacer sizes to ensure a precise fit. Initially, I tried using a rectangle as a spacer, but it didn't quite meet my expectations in terms of appearance. To overcome this challenge, I traced the main body of the sensor and used Gimp to create a digital path from the tracing. This path was then saved as an SVG file, which allowed me to import it into a design software as a sketch. From there, I was able to extrude the sketch to the correct height, resulting in a spacer that closely matches the shape of the sensor. The lines may not be perfect, but they are serviceable and don't detract from the overall appearance. The spacer was printed using PLA with a 15% infill, which provides sufficient strength while minimizing material usage. This custom spacer is designed to offer a seamless integration with the Samsung SmartThings Multipurpose sensor (2nd-gen), ensuring a precise fit and a professional-looking installation.
