Samsung Note 9 - Armored Two Piece Case
thingiverse
After exhausting every possible option for a decent phone case, I finally found one that met my impossibly high standards - a case that could withstand a catastrophic fall from my lap without sustaining any damage to my $1000 phone. So I took matters into my own hands and created this. Basic aesthetics can take a backseat, too-wimpy protection can move over, and get out of the way because this is a case designed for men - a rugged case that gives your Note a tough guy image. It raises above the screen by about a quarter inch, keeping those buttons from getting pressed while you're doing actual work. It's made to be gripped with one hand, and it doesn't send your phone flying in one direction while the case goes careening off in another when you drop it or decide to use it as a hammer. This case is so bold that anyone who lays eyes on it will say, "The heck is that? Is that a phone?" But seriously: - Print this design with PETG at 50-80% infill, with the camera facing down on both halves of the bed. Use supports and it should print correctly at current size. - Sand the inside where the phone will make contact with 800 grit sandpaper to avoid scratching the trim with a rough PETG edge. - Install your favorite tempered glass screen protector. - Assemble the case with 8x M3 bolts and M3 nuts. If needed, use a slightly longer M3 bolt to pull the nut in, but don't over-tighten on the screen. - Don't give in to the temptation of using your phone as a club - unless you must, then rest assured that your phone can take it. I've put this case through its paces for three months, subjecting it to countless spills that even a GoPro wouldn't survive. If you manage to break your phone with this, I won't refund you, I might even laugh at you, but most of all, I'll want to know how. Take the time to fit the phone properly and the case should protect well. Only the SD/SIM card slot is covered - a good thing, because now everyone will want to steal your phone, but they can't remove the sim. It's locked. Thieves won't even be able to use M3 hex keys. All other ports are completely accessible, even to the thickest of cables. And it still soaks up wireless inductive charging through all that armor.
