My van had a useless hole in the dash that was begging for utilization. An individual with the username an_da_liu had designed an innovative mp3 player that perfectly fit into this vacant spot, so I decided to create something myself. It took me several iterations to get it right, including one version where the cellphone case was hard mounted to the part of the dashboard enclosure. This design required significant support and resembled a brick, making it far from ideal. This revised version is a vast improvement over its predecessors. It allows users to effortlessly lift off their phone while it's still in its protective case. A strategically placed notch on the back of the phone case securely mates with a tab on the custom-designed dashboard cup I created. To maintain functionality and versatility, I added a small lip and divider to the cup, enabling users to still store change or other small items if needed. UPDATE: I refined my design by strengthening the lower tabs of the phone case. I carefully positioned and sized the hole to accommodate most 1/8-inch plugs and charger connectors while maintaining structural integrity. Additionally, I separated the design into two STL files for easier printing.
