New gadgets arrive every year, but the add-ons between them often can't connect! Enter this versatile adapter. This lets you pair a Samsung Galaxy S5 with an Otterbox Defender case to a Garmin Nuvi Suction Cup perfectly. I made this handy accessory after Mom got a new smartphone and uses Navigation/GPS instead of an old-fashioned Nuvi. I created it so she can keep her eyes on the road while driving, without constantly checking her phone. I borrowed the socket component from mythbustingpyro's Defy XT mount, who adapted it from dorsch's Moto X mount. The bracket for the S5 was inspired by 3DPrinterNinja's S5 tripod holder, with slight modifications. I crafted this in Blender(!), and you can download the .blend files if you're curious. Feel free to customize this design as long as you credit its creator. Instructions 1: (Recommended) Print NuviBracket.stl and NuviSocket.stl with at least 30% infill. Place the socket on the back of the Bracket, then weld or glue them together using maurerpe's PLA welding method for excellent results. 2: Simply print out NuviMount.stl with support. You're done. I prefer option one because it requires less printing time and uses less material by eliminating the need for support. Regardless of your choice, both methods produce exceptional prints.
