Samsung Galaxy S3 with Lifeproof Car Mount

I wanted a phone mount for my car that could stream podcasts through my stereo while also keeping my device charged and its protective Lifeproof case intact. Since I use this robust casing, I knew any solution had to account for its size and fit securely over the charging port. For now, I have roughed out a main body that holds the phone with full access to most of its screen while preserving an open path for both power flow and case coverage. It's possible that rounding every corner has made my initial design a bit too curved for ideal functionality. Next, I'm turning my attention towards the component responsible for securing this system to the dashboard. While some ideas revolve around snapping into air vents or other exposed areas for seamless placement near radios with built-in CD storage.
