Samsung Galaxy S10+ Case (Higher Bottom)

I started with the STL of the "3511680" version, then modified it so:
1) The part that covers the top of the phone fully extends over the SD/SIM card bay (since you can't open it anyway with the original design) and leaves just a little gap for the top microphone (and the call quality is still perfect as far as I can tell).
2) The part that covers the bottom of the phone lines up perfectly with the phone.

Both changes were done so the phone feels a lot better when playing landscape games. It also makes it very easy to tell which side of the phone is the top.

I suggest only downloading the 3MF file since it's a lot smaller (both extensions have the same model) and is a better format (IMHO). Your slicer should be able to handle both.

The other version is also marked as a source so maybe the original creator will implement these changes in the base version (you can tell this is a remix if you know where to look and he/she might be able to remove them).

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Prusa

Printer:

i3 MK3 MMU 2

Rafts:

Doesn't Matter

Supports:

No

Resolution:

0.2mm

Infill:

100%

Filament:
Prusament PETG Transparent

Notes:

PLA is apparently not a good material for phone cases.
To make it more transparent, you'll want to use the tallest layer heights possible and wider nozzles. If you want, you can also write your name after the first layer and nobody can claim it's their case... :D

To get the "galaxy-like" design I got, set the top and bottom fill patterns to "Archimedean Chords" and the infill to "Rectilinear". I suggest avoiding the "Hilbert Curve" pattern as it is rough (at least when I did it).

How I Designed This

I edited the STL file in Meshmixer. For the top, I grabbed the very edge of both sides, copied them twice, stretched one of each pair a lot, then moved the other where I wanted. For the bottom, I grabbed the section that included the hole and moved it towards the center a slight bit (so the curve would stop right at the edge of the phone), and trimmed so the edge didn't hit the phone.

Category: Mobile Phone
