Samsung Galaxy Note Edge In Car CD Holder
thingiverse
Hi Makers! Here is a holder for the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge. The thin section fits into the in car CD player slot, while the phone sits snugly in the cradle section with the screen facing outwards towards you. Please note that this design does not accommodate a phone wrapped in a custom case. Instructions I recently bought the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge and I really needed a way to hold and use my phone's car mode features safely whilst driving. To do that, I designed a holder in Solidworks that fits right into the in car CD drive. My design was inspired directly by some other fantastic designs on Thingiverse for the Galaxy Note 2. This is actually my first time sharing something with Thingiverse, so please bear with me... I've added several circular holes to the base of the stand section to help keep your phone firmly attached to the stand using neodymium magnets. I bought some super-strong 3mm diameter and 2mm deep neodymium magnets, glued them into the recesses. To make sure the phone gets drawn to the magnets, I wrapped a bit of ferrostrip - non magnetic iron impregnated tape around the edge of my phone's case. This keeps the phone secure in the stand as you drive over speed bumps and rough roads - although the stand still works perfectly fine without the magnets, I like to be on the safe side! The magnets and tape can be easily removed if you don't want to use them. I printed out the design using a Mendle 90 printer with standard 3mm black PLA settings: 195 degrees Celsius for the extruder and a comfy 70 degrees Celsius for the heated bed.
