Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Dock with Sound Horns
thingiverse
I was searching for a powered dock to use with my Note 3 and found several options that would work, but none of them really met my requirements. I decided to build my own instead. It's a single piece design that allows me to mount the original USB 3 plug securely. Two sound horns are also included, one on each side, allowing me to hear sounds clearly without distortion or muffled noises. I know there is only one speaker at the bottom, but I added another horn for symmetry and to route sounds to the mic. This way, the overall design looks more balanced and visually appealing. Update 8/4/15: I've uploaded a new version of the dock with mounting and alignment holes for a pad. I printed the pad in both NinjaFlex and PLA, and it fits snugly on the dock. If you want to ensure that the cable stays trapped, a little glue will do the trick. However, if you need to remove the cord, be prepared to break it apart or use some solvent to dissolve the glue.
