This native format is optimized for use in 3DS Max 2011. A range of formats are available, including OBJ and mesh-only options that will require reapplication of materials. Increase the poly count using the Meshsmooth and TurboSmooth levels to achieve a high level of detail. V-Ray materials and textures come included in the native 3ds Max format, while standard materials are also available in a separate file without V-Ray shader. Texture formats include JPEG. A Big size texture is also provided. The original 3DS Max 2011 file comes with high-poly geometry that has been modified using the Meshsmooth and TurboSmooth modifier.
