Samson Tearing the Lion's Mouth was crafted by Johann Georg Pinsel in the late 1750s, specifically between 1757 and 1759. This magnificent limewood sculpture showcases polychrome and gilded details, with intricate fabric elements. Measuring 157 by 120 by 96 centimeters, it is a true masterpiece of its time. Currently on display at The Johann Georg Pinsel Museum in Lviv, this artwork has an impressive provenance - it originally adorned the High Altar of the Church of All Saints in Hodowica, a village located within the Lviv region.
