Samsing MX-T70 Custom Redesign Repair
thingiverse
I was tasked with repairing this Samsung MX-T70 bluetooth speaker that was plugged into a 120v outlet when the electricians accidentally sent 240v through the breaker/outlet which fried all of the boards in this speaker. Parts are on backorder from Samsung so I suggested to the customer we go a different route, and so we did. I removed all of the original electronic boards/wires and had to guesstimate the OEM speaker specs as they aren't labeled. Reddit helped me pick the subwoofer amp (AIYIMA A3001) and I went with a similar amp (AIYIMA A01 Pro with bluetooth) for the mids/tweeters. Both amps came with power supplies, though I did have to file off the feet of them and carefully cut off the stress relief on the input wire to make them more compact/fit. I had to cut out a big square from the Left tweeter bucket and move the tweeter to allow space for the sub amp to fit. I designed/printed stands for each of the amps 3 short and 1 long per amp. I didn't want to leave the old buttons/controls so the giant play/pause/next button on top had to go. I decided to 3d print a cup to take its place for holding the aux wire and possibly a phone or two. Lastly, I had to label which amp was which for the end user, so some glow in the dark amp labels went on. This project came out well and sounds great!
