Sample filament holder
thingiverse
Bought a push plastics sample pack that turned out to be larger in diameter than usual spools, prompting me to use an old .5 kg monoprice spool as a makeshift holder to keep the ends secure. Considering it's a quick fix, I'd label this solution a makeshift job at best. It gets the job done but is far from ideal and should be used with caution. To set up, arrange all the 'combs' near each other on the spool, drape the filament across them, then slide the spool apart. Given that I utilize a sideways spool holder (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:508896), I needed to incorporate a spacer for it to fit properly. However, I encountered an issue where the filament would catch when using the top two levels, forcing me to flip it over and reorganize the holder to ensure printing from the middle or bottom layers.
