Sample Chamber for Automated Optical Measurements of Fluid Samples

grabcad

This is a 3D printable sample chamber created for automatically and periodically drawing fluid from various samples and measuring their absorbance, turbidity, and temperature. The essential components are the outer box, the door, the inner chamber, and the outer box lid. These are necessary for complete isolation from external light which would otherwise contaminate the signal. The full list of hardware used includes: - NE-1000 - New Era Pump Systems Syringe Pump (1)- QSD2030F - Fairchild Photodiode (1)- LED660L - Thorlabs LED (1)- LEDWE-15 - Thorlabs Ultra Bright White LED (1)- TCS3200 - TAOS, Inc. Tri-color Photodiode (1)- NI myDAQ (2)- LM35 - Texas Instruments Temperature Sensor (1)- 5/100kΩ Resistors (2)- 3350 - Tygon Tubing (1-2 m)- EW-98302-00 - Cole-Parmer Solenoid-Operated Pinch Valves (5)- VV-30505-94 - Cole-Parmer Luer Check Valve (1)- Square glass tubing (10 cm) The hardware interfaced with the software via the two NI myDAQs. The software used to control the setup for automated readings was LabVIEW. This project was developed as part of the requirements of BEN 363, a biomedical engineering lab at the University of Maine.
