The Samopal vzor 58, also known as the Sa vz. 58, is a Czechoslovak automatic rifle designed to destroy living targets and lightly armored objectives. It operates on the principle of removing gases from the barrel and can shoot single shots or bursts. The weapon uses the 7.62 × 39 mm vz. 43 medium power cartridge and has a magazine capacity of thirty rounds. The Sa vz. 58 is in service with the Czech Republic Army, Slovak Armed Forces, and police force. Terminologically incorrectly, the model is called a submachine gun, but according to current terminology, it is an assault rifle.
