The concept we followed appears to be the most reasonable after trying numerous options. It's likely that GE wants to utilize SLM/DMLS technology for constructing these parts. A question arises regarding the complexity of support structures needed since titanium is challenging for laser melting due to its shrinkage factor. Layer manufacturing in metal is not equivalent to 3D printing, and not everything can be built without distortions. The original weight was 2038g, which was reduced to a new weight of 424g, resulting in a mass savings of 79.2%. The smallest safety factor from FEA analysis is 1.1.
