The museum's central structure was initially founded in 1886, although its present incarnation took shape in 1989 under the expert hands of architects led by EG Rozanov. This impressive edifice, once serving as Samara Branch Central Museum VI Lenin, now encompasses an expansive exhibition area totaling 2500 sq.m and features a large cinolektsionny hall seating up to 270 patrons. Visitors can also access a well-stocked library with adjacent reading room, further contributing to the museum's overall richness. The core exhibits, as well as storage rooms for priceless collections, are accompanied by an artistic workshop, gift shop, and informative center. Annual visitorship exceeds 205 thousand individuals each year. The vast collection amassed comprises more than 180 thousand unique artifacts, rendering it one of the country's premier cultural institutions. In tribute to the 300th anniversary of Russia's illustrious fleet in 1996, an imposing anchor-adorned pedestal proudly greets guests at the entrance, while a monument dedicated to Lenin awaits installation atop a unifying podium, albeit slightly marred by its separate sculptural rendition.
