Sam'sTrains 3D Printed Gladstone
thingiverse
This is the complete Sam'sTrains Gladstone designed for FDM 3D printing. This includes everything except for the wheels, motor, worm drive, pickups, wiring, weights and screws. Below are some important tips: - Some parts are duplicated within their files. This is intentional as it slows down printing and improves quality. - Quality of fine parts can be improved by setting a low print speed of around 15mm/s - For small parts, a glass printbed is highly recommended - This model is designed to be printed at a layer height of 0.08mm - The main loco chassis, loco upper body and loco lower body should be printed with supports. - Supports should be set to touching buildplate only, and for upper body don't allow supports to spawn anywhere other than under the boiler/splashers. If your slicing software places supports around the cab, remove them before printing! - Print with 100% infill to improve weight - 0.4mm brass wire works well for pickups - 4x 5g wheel balancing weights will fit into the boiler cavity - The fully assembled .stl file is for reference only, as it contains outdated parts. - Screws: front and back loco screws are M2.3 8mm. Tender pickup and cab body screws are M2 4mm. All other screws are M2 6mm. Self tapping. Pan heads. - Motor: 8x16mm 12v coreless motor, 13500 rpm - Worm drive: 6x6mm, 0.5 module, 1mm hole
