Sam visited us at the Big Bang Fair and was scanned in 3D using our scanning rig, a setup that includes 96 DSLR cameras capturing a total of 1.8 Giga pixels of data for each scan. We collaborated with CapturingReality.com to process the data - their software expertly analyzes each image, identifies unique points on each one, and plots these points in 3D space when they appear in more than one image.
