An update from June 19th reveals that no further updates will be made to this project, as the individual is now focused on their new 3D printer featuring four extruders and faster printing capabilities within a 300x200x315mm build area. This printer will soon be uploaded to Thingiverse. An update from April 27th highlights that the initial printer is functioning well, with additional photos and page updates planned. The project involves designing and building a 3D printer using an aluminum extrusion frame sourced from 8020.net. The frame features M8 or imperial bolt holes, connects with aluminum inserts, and is painted with etch spray primer and satin black paint. Linear motion includes pulley-driven X and Y axes, a high-quality stainless steel Z axis threaded bar, and LM10UU bearings guiding all three axes along 10mm stainless rods. The creator also plans to include an LCD display and possibly an iPad/tablet PC mount for interface purposes.
